Replace the starter post with a useful system check
A simple launch checklist for a new content interface.
A default “Hello world” page is a useful reminder that a fresh installation includes public decisions. Before launch, review the home page, sample content, author archives, comments, feeds, sitemaps, error pages, and any automatically generated taxonomy.
Remove sample material that has no editorial purpose. Keep only the content types the publication will maintain. Confirm that a missing path returns 404, that canonical URLs use the intended hostname, and that the sitemap is valid XML with no text before its declaration.
Then test the page without a logged-in session. Follow navigation with a keyboard, submit the contact form with valid and invalid fields, and check a narrow screen. A clean launch is not the absence of errors in an admin panel. It is a public path that explains itself to a visitor.
